Our Story
Forever Altr'd was birthed through the increasing realization of the need for light in creative spaces that tend to be very dark. Often the people with the most beautiful gifts are the ones who silently suffer. We’ve seen it many times in entertainment spaces. In fact, recent studies have found that artists are 10 times more likely to struggle with depression and anxiety than the general population, what's more, writers are 50% more likely to self harm and are at higher risk for suicide. As Christians, the Word instructs us to be a light in dark places. Creative spaces are known to be dark, but we have the power to do something about this. In early 2024, God spoke directly to our founder, Emilia Ridley, about being a part of the change for both Christians and the creative community. Forever Altr'd merges our human needs for community, connection, creation, and Christ.

There are 3 undeniable truths:

We believe in the full gospel of the Bible. We were created by God and redeemed through Jesus’ sacrifice and the finished work on the cross. We believe in the trinity- God the Father, Holy Spirit, and Jesus the Son. All of our work is rooted on these fundamental truths of our faith.

Above all, we are a collective of Charlotte based believers who are passionate about Jesus and growing the Kingdom of Heaven. We use our creative abilities and talents to glorify God and give back to our community. 1 Peter 4:10-11
Forever Altr'd has two meanings etched into it's fibers.
Forever Altar-ed: The altar is a place of spiritual significance in the Bible. It's a place of atonement, sacrifice or a place of remembrance, or celebration. Today, the altar is where you marry the love of your life or where you fall to your knees to surrender to God. Either way, altars are places God intends for us to visit often. May we forever live our lives fully surrendered, gaze locked in on our Truest Love— Jesus.
The second meaning is Forever Altered: We believe that once you encounter the love of Jesus you are never the same. Like each of us, creativity comes in different packages and it is all useful in the kingdom. Whether you are a Christian Creative longing for community or someone who loves the Lord and feels a pull to the mission— there is a place for you!
